Thomas was born in Jeddito, Arizona in 1955. He learned silversmithing from his uncle, John Bedone. He uses only the finest quality stones, which he sets into heavy, deeply stamped sterling silver work. He is renowned for his concho belts, bolas, belt buckles and squash blossoms. He has won best of show at Santa Fe Indian Market as well as best of jewelry at the Gallup Inter-Tribal Ceremonial.

Number 8 Turquoise is considered one of the great classic American turquoise mines. It is located in the Lynn Mining District in Eureka County, Nevada. The first claim was filed in 1929 and was closed in 1976.
