Thomas was born in Jeddito, Arizona in 1955. He learned silversmithing from his uncle, John Bedone. He uses only the finest quality stones, which he sets into heavy, deeply stamped sterling silver work. He is renowned for his concho belts, bolas, belt buckles and squash blossoms. He has won best of show at Santa Fe Indian Market as well as best of jewelry at the Gallup Inter-Tribal Ceremonial.
Stone: Lone Mountain Turquoise
In the 1960's Lone Mountain was converted to a small open pit operation by Menliss Winfield. This mine once produced a great variety of turquoise, including some of the finest examples of spider web turquoise as well as clear, deep-blue stones.
