About Chinese Warring States Beads:

Warring States Beads, known as 【Warring States Beads】, were created during the Warring States period of China, which spanned from the 5th to 3rd centuries BCE before the unification under the Qin dynasty. The oldest glass in China, dating back to the 11th to 8th centuries BCE, was excavated in Luoyang, Henan Province. However, the widespread use of glass items began in the Warring States period.

The early Warring States beads were primarily made of faience, a type of ceramic material with glass decorations. Later, entirely glass beads, known as tonbo-dama, were also produced. Common designs included "Seven Star Beads" and "Eye Beads," characterized by their dotted patterns. While the glass-making techniques and many design elements were influenced by Roman glass from Western Asia, the material composition of Chinese glass from this era differs, showcasing the advanced glass-making technology of ancient China.

These beads are not only of historical significance as the beginning of China's glass history but also highly appreciated by collectors for their rich designs and vibrant colors.
