About Warring States Beads:

Warring States Beads: Known as "戦国玉" (Warring States Beads), these glass beads were crafted during the Warring States period of China, approximately from the 5th to 3rd centuries BCE, before the unification by the Qin dynasty. The earliest Chinese glass, dating back to the 11th to 8th centuries BCE, was discovered in Luoyang, Henan Province. However, it was during the Warring States period that glass products began to be widely circulated. Initially, these beads were made of faience, a ceramic material with glass patterns, and later fully glass beads were produced. Common designs included "七星玉" (Seven-Star Beads) and "貼眼玉" (Applied Eye Beads), characterized by dotted patterns. Although the glass-making techniques and design elements were influenced by Western Asia, such as Roman glass, the composition of Chinese glass from this period differs, showcasing the advanced glass-making technology of ancient China. These beads are not only of historical value but also highly appreciated for their diverse and vibrant designs.
