About Chinese Warring States Beads:
The "Warring States Beads" refer to beads made during the Warring States period (5th to 3rd century BCE) before the unification of China by the Qin dynasty. The earliest glass in China, dating back to the 11th to 8th century BCE, was discovered in Luoyang, Henan Province. However, it wasn't until the Warring States period that glass products began to be widely distributed. Early Warring States beads typically feature a faience base with glass patterns, later evolving into fully glass beads. Common designs include the "Seven Star Beads" and "Eye Beads" with dotted patterns. Although many design elements and glassmaking techniques were influenced by Western Asian regions such as Roman glass, the materials used in Chinese glass from this era differ in composition, demonstrating the advanced glassmaking skills of ancient China. These beads are not only historically valuable but also highly admired for their rich designs and vibrant colors.
