About Warring States Beads:
Warring States Beads: Known as "Senoku Tama" in Japanese, these beads were crafted during China's Warring States period (5th–3rd Century BCE) before the unification by the Qin dynasty. The earliest Chinese glass artifacts, dating from the 11th to 8th centuries BCE, were discovered in Luoyang, Henan Province. However, glass products became prevalent during the Warring States period. Early Warring States beads often featured faience, a ceramic material decorated with glass patterns, which later evolved into fully glass beads. Common designs included "Seven Star Beads" and "Overlay Eye Beads," characterized by their spotted patterns. Although influenced by West Asian techniques, Chinese glass from this era utilized different materials, highlighting the advanced glass-making skills of ancient China. These beads hold immense historical value as the inception of Chinese glass history and are highly cherished for their intricate designs and vibrant colors.
