About Chinese Warring States Beads:
Warring States Beads, crafted during the Warring States period (5th to 3rd century BCE) before China's unification by the Qin, hold significant historical value. The oldest Chinese glass, dating back to the 11th to 8th century BCE, was discovered in Luoyang, Henan Province. However, glass products began to circulate widely during the Warring States period. Early Warring States beads were primarily made of faience, a ceramic material decorated with glass. Later, entirely glass beads were produced. Common motifs included "Seven Star Beads" and "Eye Beads," characterized by their spotted patterns.
The techniques and designs were influenced by Western Asian regions, such as Roman glass. However, the materials used in Chinese glass from this era differ in composition, showcasing the advanced glass-making techniques of ancient China. These beads are not only of historical significance but are also beloved for their diverse designs and vibrant colors.
