About Warring States Beads:

【Warring States Beads】 Known as "Sengoku-dama," these beads were crafted during China's Warring States period, which spanned from the 5th to the 3rd century BCE, prior to the unification under Qin. The earliest Chinese glass artifacts, dating from the 11th to the 8th century BCE, were unearthed in Luoyang, Henan Province. However, it wasn't until the Warring States period that glass products began to circulate widely. Initially, Warring States beads were primarily made from faience, a ceramic material decorated with glass patterns. Later, entirely glass beads also emerged. Common designs included "Seven Star Beads" and "Eye Beads," characterized by their spotted patterns. While many design elements and techniques were influenced by Western Asia and Roman glass, the materials used in Chinese glass from this period differ, highlighting the unique and advanced glassmaking skills of ancient China. These beads are highly regarded not only for their historical significance but also for their rich designs and vibrant colors, making them a favorite among collectors.
