About Striped Dzi Beads:

Dzi Beads, originating from Tibet, are ancient beads known for their unique designs created by burning natural dyes onto agate stones, similar to Etched Carnelian Beads. These beads are believed to have been made between the 1st and 6th centuries AD. Despite their age, the exact composition of the dyes used in the burning process remains a mystery. Primarily discovered in Tibet, these beads are also found in regions like Bhutan and Ladakh in the Himalayas. The patterns, especially the "eye" motifs, carry different meanings and are highly sought after, with well-preserved pieces being particularly prized.

In Tibetan culture, Dzi Beads are considered "talismans of wealth and prosperity" and are cherished as heirlooms. Recently, their popularity has surged in China, where they are known as "Tian Zhu" (Heavenly Beads). While many replicas using similar techniques are now available, the original ancient Dzi Beads remain highly valuable and rare.

Difference Between Dzi Beads and Striped Dzi Beads:

Within the Dzi Bead category, those featuring striped patterns instead of "eye" motifs are referred to as Striped Dzi Beads or "Chongzi" (Line Beads).
