About Millefiori:
Known as "chachatso" in Africa, Millefiori means "a thousand flowers" in Italian. Following the collapse of exclusive trade with the East and the dominance of Bohemian glass in European markets, Venice faced significant economic challenges. In response, they created colorful and decorative glass, with Millefiori glass being a prominent example. Traders who were already engaged in bead trade with Africa crafted tubular trade beads from this glass and transported them to Africa, where they were highly valued.
