About Chevron Beads:

Chevron beads, also known as star beads or rosetta beads, were invented by Maria Valovier in Murano, Italy in the late 1400s. While Venetian bead-making techniques often draw from ancient methods, the Chevron technique is unique to Venice. Chevron beads can have up to 10 layers, with blue being the most common color. Red, green, and black Chevrons are particularly rare. Eventually, Chevron beads were also produced in the Netherlands. The term "Chevron" means "mountain-shaped," indicative of their distinctive pattern.
