About Chevron Beads:

Chevron beads were invented in the late 1400s by Maria Varo Veere on the island of Murano, Italy. While Venetian bead-making techniques have roots in ancient methodologies, the Chevron technique is unique to Venice. Chevron beads can have up to 10 layers, with blue being the most common color. Red, green, and black Chevrons are rarer. The name "Chevron" comes from the V-shaped pattern, and these beads are also known as Star Beads or Rosetta Beads. The technique later spread to the Netherlands.
