About Chevron Beads:

Chevron beads, also known as Star Beads or Rosetta, were invented in the late 1400s by Maria Varoveer on the island of Murano in Italy. While most Venetian bead techniques are adaptations of ancient methods, Chevron beads are uniquely Venetian. They can have up to ten layers, with blue being the most common color. Red, green, and black Chevron beads are particularly rare. The technique later spread to the Netherlands. The term "chevron" means "mountain-shaped," referring to the distinctive pattern of the beads.
