About Chevron Beads:
Invented in the late 1400s by Maria Barovier on the island of Murano, Italy, the Chevron technique is a unique Venetian beadmaking method. Unlike other Venetian bead techniques that adapt ancient methods, Chevron beads are an original Venetian innovation. These beads can have up to ten layers and are most commonly found in blue. However, red, green, and black Chevron beads are rare and highly valued. The term "Chevron" means "mountain-shaped" and these beads are also known as "Star Beads" or "Rosetta Beads." Eventually, the technique spread to the Netherlands as well.
