About Chevron Beads:

Chevron beads are a specialized technique invented by Maria della Valle in the late 1400s on the island of Murano, Italy. While Venetian bead techniques often draw from ancient methods, the chevron technique is unique to Venice. Chevron beads can have up to 10 layers, with blue being the most common color. Red, green, and black chevron beads are considered rare. The Dutch also began producing chevron beads later on. The term "chevron" means "zigzag" and these beads are also known as star beads or rosetta beads.
