About Chevron Beads:

Chevron beads were invented in the late 1400s by Maria Vetrovieri on the island of Murano, Italy. While most Venetian bead techniques are adaptations of ancient methods, the chevron technique is unique to Venice. Chevron beads can have up to 10 layers, with blue being the most common color, while red, green, and black beads are rarer. The term "chevron" means "zigzag" or "mountain-shaped," and these beads are also known as star beads or rosetta beads. The technique later spread to the Netherlands.
