About Chevron Beads:

Chevron beads were invented in the late 1400s by Maria Valover from the island of Murano, Italy. While Venetian bead-making techniques have been adapted from ancient methods, the chevron technique is unique to Venice. Chevron beads have been found with up to 10 layers, predominantly in blue, but also in rare colors like red, green, and black. The technique later spread to the Netherlands. The term 'chevron' means 'mountain-shaped,' and these beads are also known as star beads or rosetta beads.
