About Chevron Beads:

Chevron beads, also known as star beads or rosetta, were invented in the late 1400s by Maria Valovier on the island of Murano, Italy. While Venetian bead-making techniques often draw from ancient methods, the Chevron technique is unique to Venice. Chevron beads can have up to 10 layers, with blue being the most common color. Red, green, and black Chevrons are rarer and thus more valuable. Eventually, the production of Chevron beads extended to the Netherlands. The name "Chevron" refers to their distinctive zigzag pattern.
