About Chevron Beads:

Chevron beads, also known as star beads or rosetta beads, were invented in the late 1400s by Maria Varovier on the island of Murano, Italy. While many Venetian bead-making techniques are derived from ancient methods, the chevron technique is unique to Venice. Chevron beads can have up to 10 layers, with blue being the most common color. Red, green, and black chevron beads are rarer and thus more valuable. The technique was later adopted in the Netherlands. The term "chevron" refers to the bead's mountain-like pattern.
