About Chevron Beads:

Chevron beads, also known as star or rosetta beads, were invented in the late 1400s by Maria Valovere on the island of Murano, Italy. While Venetian bead-making techniques draw from ancient methods, the chevron technique is uniquely Venetian. Chevron beads can have up to ten layers, with blue being the most common color. Red, green, and black chevrons are considered rare. The technique later spread to the Netherlands. The name "chevron" refers to the beads' distinctive zigzag pattern.
