About Chevron Beads:

Chevron beads are a unique creation invented in the late 1400s by Maria Barovier of Murano Island, Italy. While many Venetian bead techniques are adaptations of ancient methods, the Chevron technique is original to Venice. Chevron beads can have up to 10 layers, with blue being the most common color. Red, green, and black chevrons are rarer and highly prized. The term "chevron" refers to the zigzag pattern on the beads, and they are also known as star beads or rosetta beads. Production of Chevron beads later spread to the Netherlands.
