About Chevron Beads:
Chevron beads, also known as star beads or rosetta beads, are a unique product of Venetian glassmaking techniques, invented by Maria Varoveer in Murano, Italy in the late 1400s. While Venetian beads often draw from ancient methods, chevron beads stand out as an original Venetian innovation. They are identified by their layered construction, with some examples having up to 10 layers. Blue chevron beads are the most common, whereas red, green, and black variants are rare and highly sought after. These beads were later produced in the Netherlands as well. The term "chevron" refers to their distinctive zigzag pattern.
