About Chevron Beads:

The chevron technique was invented by Maria Valovière on the island of Murano, Italy, in the late 1400s. While Venetian bead-making techniques are adaptations of ancient methods, the chevron technique is unique to Venice. Chevron beads have been found with up to 10 layers, predominantly in blue, while red, green, and black chevrons are considered rare. The technique later spread to the Netherlands. The term "chevron" means "mountain-shaped," and these beads are also known as star beads or rosetta beads.
