After the collapse of exclusive trade with the East, Venice faced significant economic challenges as Bohemian glass dominated the European market. In response, Venetian artisans created Millefiori glass as a decorative alternative. These beads were traded with African merchants, where they are known as "Chachaso". The vibrant and unique Millefiori beads became a staple in African trade and are still cherished for their intricate designs and historical significance.
