About Millefiori:
The Millefiori technique dates back to the late 1800s to early 1900s, originating in Venice. It involves either mosaic application or mosaic folding methods. Known as "chachaso" in Africa, Millefiori beads were a Venetian response to the collapse of exclusive trade with the East and the dominance of Bohemian glass in European markets. Venetian artisans created these colorful decorative glass pieces, which were then crafted into tube-shaped beads by traders and exported as trade beads to Africa.
