About Milifiori Beads:
Dating back to the late 1800s to early 1900s, Milifiori beads originate from Venice and are crafted using mosaic techniques or mosaic inlay methods. In Africa, they are known as "Chachaso." These beads were created as a response to the economic challenges Venice faced when Bohemian glass dominated the European market following the collapse of exclusive trade with the East. Venetian merchants, already engaged in bead trade with Africa, began producing cylindrical glass beads from Milifiori glass to trade with African markets.
