In Africa, these beads are known as "Chachasaw." The term "Millefiori" is Italian for "a thousand flowers." After the collapse of exclusive trade with the Orient and the domination of the European market by Bohemian glass, Venice faced significant economic challenges. In response, Venetian artisans created Millefiori glass, characterized by its vivid and decorative patterns. These glass pieces were shaped into tubular beads by merchants who traded them as beads in Africa.
