About Millefiori Beads:
Millefiori, meaning "a thousand flowers" in Italian, dates back to the late 1800s to early 1900s. These beads are created using either the mosaic application technique or the mosaic inclusion technique. In Africa, they are known as ChaChaSo. During a period when Venice sought to counteract the economic impact of losing its exclusive trade with the Orient and the rise of Bohemian glass dominating the European market, Venetian artisans developed Millefiori glass as a vibrant decorative glass alternative. These beads were crafted into cylindrical shapes by traders and transported to Africa as trade beads.
