About Etched Carnelian:

Originating from the Indus Valley Civilization, etched carnelian beads are crafted by drawing patterns with a natron solution derived from plants and then firing them at a low temperature of 300 to 400 degrees Celsius. These beads have been excavated from sites in Mesopotamia and Afghanistan, but are believed to have been transported overland and by sea from the Indus River region.
