About Etched Carnelian:
Era: 2500 BCE to 1800 BCE
Origin: Indus Valley Civilization
Etched carnelian beads were created by drawing patterns using a liquid called natron, derived from plants, and then baking them at low temperatures of 300 to 400 degrees Celsius. While these beads have been excavated from sites in Mesopotamia and Afghanistan, they are believed to have been made in the Indus Valley region and transported over land and sea routes.
