About Etched Carnelian Beads:

Era: 2500 BCE to 1800 BCE

Originating from the Indus Valley Civilization, these carnelian beads were adorned with patterns using natron liquid extracted from plants. The patterns were then baked at a low temperature of approximately 300 to 400 degrees Celsius. While such beads have been excavated from sites in Mesopotamia and Afghanistan, it is believed that those crafted in the Indus Valley were transported via land and sea routes.
