About Etched Carnelian Beads:

Era: 2500 BCE to 1800 BCE

Originating from the Indus Valley Civilization, these carnelian beads have patterns etched using a natron solution derived from plants, then fired at low temperatures of around 300 to 400 degrees Celsius. While they are also found in Mesopotamian and Afghan archaeological sites, it's believed that they were produced in the Indus River region and transported via land and sea routes.
