About Etched Carnelian Beads:

Era: 2500 BCE to 1800 BCE

Originating from the Indus Valley Civilization, these carnelian beads were decorated with patterns using a natron solution derived from plants, and then fired at a low temperature of about 300 to 400 degrees Celsius. While they are also found in Mesopotamian and Afghan archaeological sites, it is believed that these beads were crafted in the Indus River region and transported via land and sea routes.
