About Etched Carnelian:

Era: 2500 BCE to 1800 BCE

Originating from the Indus Valley Civilization, these Carnelian beads feature patterns etched using a liquid derived from plants, known as natron, and then fired at low temperatures of around 300 to 400 degrees Celsius. While they have been excavated from sites in Mesopotamia and Afghanistan, it is believed that the beads were originally crafted in the Indus River Valley and transported via land and sea routes.
