About Millefiori:

In Africa, Millefiori beads are known as "Chachaso." The term "Millefiori" means "a thousand flowers" in Italian. Following the collapse of exclusive trade with the East, Venice faced significant economic challenges due to the dominance of Bohemian glass in European markets. In response, Venetian artisans developed Millefiori glass, known for its vibrant and intricate patterns. These glass rods were crafted into cylindrical beads by traders already engaged in bead trade with Africa, where they became popular trade beads.
