About Etched Carnelian:
Era: 2500 BCE to 1800 BCE
Origin: Indus Valley Civilization
Etched Carnelian beads are created by drawing patterns on carnelian stones using a liquid called natron, derived from plants, and then firing them at a low temperature of approximately 300-400 degrees Celsius. These beads have been excavated from sites in Mesopotamia and Afghanistan, but they were originally made in the Indus Valley region and transported via land and sea routes.
