About Etched Carnelian:
Era: 2500 BCE to 1800 BCE
Origin: Indus Valley Civilization
Etched Carnelian beads were created by applying patterns using a natron liquid derived from plants and then firing them at low temperatures of around 300-400 degrees Celsius. These beads have been excavated from sites in Mesopotamia and Afghanistan, but it is believed they were originally produced in the Indus River Valley and transported overland and by sea.
