About Chevron Beads:

Chevron beads were invented in the late 1400s by Maria Valover of Murano Island, Italy. While Venetian bead-making techniques have their roots in ancient methods, the Chevron technique is uniquely Venetian. Chevron beads can have up to 10 layers, with blue being the most common color. Red, green, and black Chevron beads are rarer and highly prized. The technique later spread to the Netherlands. The term "Chevron" means "mountain-shaped," and these beads are also known as Star Beads or Rosetta Beads.
