About Chevron Beads:

The technique for creating Chevron beads was invented in the late 1400s by Maria Valoveer on the island of Murano, Italy. While Venetian bead-making techniques are adaptations of ancient methods, the Chevron technique is uniquely Venetian. Chevron beads have been found with up to 10 layers, predominantly in blue, with red, green, and black being rarer. The technique later spread to the Netherlands. The term "Chevron" refers to the bead's zigzag pattern, also known as star beads or rosetta.
