About Chevron Beads:

Chevron beads, also known as star beads or rosetta, were invented in the late 1400s by Maria Valover of Murano Island, Italy. While many Venetian bead-making techniques are adaptations of ancient methods, chevron bead-making is a unique Venetian innovation. Chevron beads can have up to 10 layers, with blue being the most common color. Red, green, and black chevron beads are considered rare. The term "chevron" refers to the zigzag pattern characteristic of these beads. Over time, chevron beads also began to be produced in the Netherlands.
