About Chevron Beads:

Chevron beads were invented in the late 1400s by Maria Valovaeer on the island of Murano, Italy. While Venetian bead-making techniques are adaptations of ancient methods, the chevron is a unique Venetian invention. Chevrons can have up to 10 layers, with blue being the most common color. Red, green, and black chevrons are rarer and more valuable. The name "chevron" refers to the bead's distinctive zigzag pattern. They are also known as star beads or rosetta beads. Later, chevron beads were also produced in the Netherlands.
