About Chevron Beads:

Chevron beads are a technique invented in the late 1400s by Maria Barovier on the island of Murano, Italy. While Venetian bead techniques draw from ancient methods, Chevron beads are unique to Venice. Up to ten layers have been discovered, with blue being the most common color, while red, green, and black are rarer. Chevron beads, also known as Star or Rosetta beads, later started to be produced in the Netherlands as well. The term "Chevron" means "mountain-shaped" in reference to their distinctive patterns.
