About Chevron Beads:

Chevron beads, invented by Maria Valovier in the late 1400s on the island of Murano, Italy, represent a unique Venetian bead-making technique. While many Venetian beads draw from ancient methods, the chevron bead is a distinct Venetian creation. These beads can have up to ten layers and are often found in blue, with red, green, and black variants being particularly rare. The term "chevron" means "zigzag," and these beads are also known as star beads or rosetta beads. Over time, the technique spread to the Netherlands, further popularizing these intricate and vibrant beads.
