About Chevron Beads:
The technique for creating Chevron beads was invented by Maria Barovier in Murano, Italy, during the late 1400s. While most Venetian bead-making techniques are adaptations of ancient methods, the Chevron technique is uniquely Venetian. Chevron beads, also known as star or rosette beads, are identified by their mountain-like patterns. They have been found in layers up to 10 and are predominantly blue, although red, green, and black variants are rare. The technique later spread to the Netherlands, further enriching the bead-making tradition.
