About Chevron Beads:
Invented in the late 1400s by Maria Valovier on the island of Murano, Italy, Chevron beads are a unique Venetian innovation. Although Venetian bead-making techniques draw from ancient methods, Chevron beads are distinctly Venetian. These beads can have up to 10 layers, with blue being the most common color. Red, green, and black Chevrons are considered rare. The technique eventually spread to the Netherlands. The name 'Chevron' means 'zigzag,' and they are also known as Star Beads or Rosetta Beads.
