Philander Begay was born in 1982 in Tuba City, AZ. He is one of youngest and talented artists. He does Tufa casting and Inlay work. Each of his pieces and designs are always outstanding and has its own beauty of Navajo culture. In 2014, he won 1st prize at the Heard Museum show.
Stone: Godber Turquoise
The Godber mine, discovered in 1932, is located east of Austin, Nevada. The turquoise ranges from medium to dark blue, usually with a beautiful spider webbing. It has also been known for a very dark or black mottling forming, blotches and veins running through the stone.
