About Warring States Beads:

Warring States Beads were created during the Warring States period (5th to 3rd century BC) before the unification of China by the Qin dynasty. The earliest Chinese glass, dating back to the 11th to 8th century BC, was discovered in Luoyang, Henan Province. However, widespread production and distribution of glass items began during the Warring States period. Early Warring States beads were primarily made from faience, a type of ceramic, with glass patterns. Over time, fully glass beads were also produced. Common designs include "Seven Star Beads" and "Eye Beads," featuring spotted patterns. Although glass-making techniques and design elements were influenced by Western Asia, the materials used in these Chinese beads differ, showcasing the advanced glass-making skills of ancient China. These beads are not only historically significant as the beginning of Chinese glass history, but they are also highly valued for their diverse designs and vibrant colors, garnering a large following among collectors.
