About Dzi Beads:

Dzi Beads, also known as Striped Dzi Beads, are ancient beads originating from Tibet. Similar to etched carnelian, these beads are crafted by baking natural dyes onto agate to create intricate patterns. Believed to have been made between the 1st and 6th centuries AD, the exact ingredients of the dyes remain a mystery, adding to their enigmatic allure. Primarily found in Tibet, these beads are also discovered in regions such as Bhutan and Ladakh in the Himalayas. Different patterns are said to symbolize various meanings, with the "eye" motif being particularly revered for its supposed connection to wealth and prosperity. In Tibetan culture, these beads are cherished as protective amulets and heirlooms. While modern replicas are popular in China, where they are called "Tianzhu," authentic ancient Dzi Beads are highly prized and rare.
