About Dzi Beads (Chong Dzi Beads):
Dzi Beads are ancient beads from Tibet, similar to Etched Carnelian, created by firing natural dyes onto agate to form intricate patterns. These beads are believed to date back to the 1st to 6th centuries AD. However, the exact composition of the dyes used remains a mystery, adding to the enigmatic nature of these antique beads. While primarily found in Tibet, they have also been discovered in regions like Bhutan and Ladakh in the Himalayas. Different patterns are thought to hold various meanings, with the "eye" motif being particularly prized for its association with wealth and prosperity. In Tibet, Dzi Beads are cherished as protective talismans and valuable heirlooms. Recently, they have gained popularity in China under the name "Tian Zhu," with many replicas produced using similar techniques. Nonetheless, authentic ancient Dzi Beads retain their high rarity and value.
