About Dzi Beads (Chong Dzi Beads):
Dzi beads are ancient beads from Tibet, similar to etched carnelian beads. They are made by applying natural dyes to agate and then firing them to create intricate designs. These beads are believed to have been created between the 1st and 6th centuries AD. Despite their age, the exact composition of the dyes used remains a mystery, adding to their allure. Primarily found in Tibet, they are also discovered in Bhutan and the Ladakh region of the Himalayas. Different patterns are believed to hold various meanings, with the "eye" motif being particularly valued for its supposed ability to bring wealth and prosperity. In Tibet, Dzi beads are treasured as protective talismans and have been passed down through generations. Recently, they have gained popularity in China, where they are referred to as "Tian Zhu" (Heavenly Beads). While many replicas are produced using similar techniques, genuine ancient Dzi beads are exceedingly rare and highly prized.
